Aliyu

Yet Aliyu is not presented as a simple wealthy young man. His family relationships, friendships, romantic expectations, and reactions to Tataah suggest that there are layers beneath his controlled exterior. Sareenah

Sareenah is emotionally attached to Aliyu and openly hopes that their relationship will eventually become what she desires. She is familiar with Aliyu's family and receives encouragement from Ammi, but her determination also creates tension.

Her jealousy and her complicated relationship with the people around Aliyu add another layer of uncertainty to the story.

Faruuk

Faruuk is one of Aliyu's close friends and provides a lively contrast to Aliyu's reserved personality. He is playful, outspoken, mischievous, and fond of provoking his friend. His teasing frequently exposes things Aliyu would rather leave unsaid.

Despite his joking nature, Faruuk's actions can have consequences that extend beyond simple friendship.

Ma'aruf

Ma'aruf belongs to the same circle of friends and often observes the situations surrounding Aliyu and Faruuk. His conversations with them provide humor, commentary, and hints about the personalities of the men around Aliyu.

Ammi

Ammi is a strong presence within Aliyu's family. She understands her son's personality and appears to have her own plans regarding his future.
